Sage is the queen of medicinal herbs. The word sage originates from ‘Salvare,’ which is Latin for salvation/healing. For centuries, sage was considered a miraculous plant. Originally, the herb was found around the Mediterranean Sea by the ancient Greeks and Romans. It had healing power but also played a role in fertility. During the Middle
Ages, sage was the remedy against cholera and the plague.Sage has a strengthening effect on our nervous system and is therefore a perfect anti-stress agent. It can also be used to rinse the hair and as lotion to cleanse the skin. Nowadays, sage is often used as mouthwash because the herb is disinfecting. It is sometimes used as an ingredient in toothpaste as it whitensthe teeth. Lukewarm sage tea is healing for sore throats.

Restaurant

Fresh, healthy and diversity are the keywords of the revamped Salavare restaurant. Our chef works hard every day to cook the widest possible range so that we have something for everyone. All our soups, meals, salads and so on come from our own kitchen where we work with sustainably sourced products as much as possible. Every week we will share the chef’s tips via this website, then you will know exactly when you can leave your lunch at home. If you still miss something in our offer or you have tips, feel free to talk to us and who knows, we might see your dish on the menu!

For a good cup of coffee you have to be at Alex’s, he is open daily from 8.00-15.00. But he’s not just serving coffee and tea, he’s also serving nutritious breakfasts and (un)healthy snacks. The selection will vary, so you will always be surprised with new coffee specials and delicious cakes and pastries from his own oven. See you soon!

Every week we will share the weekly menu on this website, every Friday afternoon it will be updated for the following week’s lunch tips. It may happen that a product is not available, we will always do our best to provide the best possible solution in return.

Product: We take pride in sourcing our products from local suppliers. For example, we use herbs grown in the Netherlands and sustainably cultivated ingredients, such as oyster mushrooms grown on recycled coffee grounds. By working with local and circular initiatives, we ensure that our products are both fresh and environmentally responsible.
Planet: Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We incorporate Instock products to minimize food waste and actively seek ways to reduce our environmental footprint. Every step we take helps us create a greener and more sustainable future for all.
